Ms. Holzer specializes in providing investment management services with a financial planning foundation to high net worth clients living outside the United States. She has worked in international finance since 1976, starting at the Bank of Boston International after college, moving to a boutique international investment bank after graduate school and eventually starting her firm, Holzer & Company, Inc. in 1984.
In line with her interest in philanthropy and sustainability, Ms. Holzer is expanding her firm's activities into the area of investment services for private charities and foundations. It is a natural adjunct to charitable gift planning as a component of the investment policy process.
Ms. Holzer has a BSFS in international economics from the School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. and a MBA in international finance from the Columbia Graduate School of Business, Columbia University, New York, N.Y. She holds the designation CFP, Certified Financial Planner, from the College of Financial Planning, Denver, Colorado. In 2017, she completed the CAP (Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy) certification which is focused on advising clients in planning their philanthropic activitiesI.
To keep current in investment products, planning issues and practice management topics such as cyber security, Ms. Holzer regularly attends professional conferences. She is a member of NAPFA, FPA, STEP and CUCBS and Georgetown alumni. She recently joined a select group of advisors who have signed the Fiduciary Oath (www.thefiduciarystandard.org).
Ms. Holzer is active in the non-profit community in Northern New Jersey. She is the president of the Richard H. Holzer Memorial Foundation, a private family foundation, and a board member and chair of the Finance Committee of the Maternal Child Health Partnership in Northern New Jersey, a member of the advisory committee of the Kaplen JCC Thurnauer School of Music and on the Board of Directors of the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades.
In her free time, she enjoys cycling, skiing, all New York City has to offer, travel and visiting her children around the country. She is fluent in Spanish.
