Year End Tax News

Today our President signed a new set of tax laws. The Bill is 1000 pages long and most accountants and tax lawyers have only had a week to look at it.

We do not know yet if and how the new rules will affect non US investors, but as soon as we do we will contact clients who may be impacted.

Happy Thanksgiving

I recently returned from a trip to Cuba. It was very enjoyable and very interesting, because they make a real effort to ensure that tourists have a good time.Great music everywhere and mostly free. Old cars as taxis, but classics from the 40's and 50's many restored.But it also made us appreciate all that we have here in the US, in such abundance. Plenty of food in great variety.

Moving Forward - Socially Responsible Investing

I finally finished my last CAP® exam and can now add the title "Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy"® to my credentials.

Falling off and not giving up

Two weeks ago, while on vacation in Vermont, I fell off my wonderful bicycle.

I dropped the bike at the local shop to make sure it was OK and then took myself to the local clinic to also get checked out.

Nothing broken, but still bruised and sore after 2 weeks. I finally got back on the bike this weekend for a slow and easy ride.

Happy Spring

Today I rode my bicycle to work for the first time this year. It was a  pleasure. It helps that the office is closed, so I could dress informally.

One of this year's resolutions is to spend more time cycling. My landlord placed bike racks near the office, so it has added to the convenience.
